Throughout the year the members of the Banks Firefighters Association put on various events for community.
Community Pancake Breakfast – March
In March, we hold a large Pancake Breakfast at the Banks Fire District’s Station 13 in Banks, OR. This event is put on as an opportunity for the community to tour our main fire station, meet the firefighters that serve their community, ride in one of the fire engines, and enjoy a breakfast served by our volunteers.
Our next Community Pancake Breakfast is scheduled for Sunday, March 1, 2026, 8:00am – 1:00pm
Annual College Scholarship – May
Every May we select up to two applicants to receive a $500 college scholarship. This scholarship is open to any student living in the Banks Fire District that is graduating from High School.
National Night Out – August
Find us at National Night Out in Banks – Tuesday, August 5, 2025, 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Banks Sunset Park
Muscular Dystrophy Association: Fill The Boot – August
The Banks Firefighters Association joins over 100,000 firefighters nationwide who help fill the boot with donations for Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). This charity uses the donations for funding research for new treatments, supporting MDA care centers, and sending kids to MDA Summer Camp. Banks BBQ Weekend – August
We will be participating in several events at this years Banks BBQ, August 15-17, 2025. We will be out collecting for the MDA Fill-The-Boot (https://firefighters.mda.org/), the parade on Sunday, community outreach after the parade in the park, and on medical standby for the Combine Derby Sunday evening.
We will tentatively be holding a 50/50 Raffle at Saturday’s race at the Sunset Speedway
K-12 School Supply Drive – August
In 2018 the Banks Firefighters Association started an annual School Supply Drive. Our members provide basic school supplies and backpacks for students in need for the upcoming school year.
Letters to Santa – November/December
Stay tuned for dates and further information. We are once again helping Santa make sure all your letters get to him and personally respond in time for Christmas. The red mailbox will be put out soon in front of Station13 in Banks. Be sure you put your return address on the envelope or letter!
Banks Annual Christmas Parade – December 7
We will be participating in the annual Banks Christmas Parade, Sunday, December 7, 2025 at 6:00pm. Parade route is along NW Main Street starting at Banks Hardware and ending at Sunset Park. Check out their Facebook Post for more information about the parade.
Christmas Family Sponsorship – December
Each December, the Banks Firefighters Association partners with a Christmas Family Sponsorship program to donate food and presents for children at low income homes.
Santa is at Jim’s Market – December
Banks Fire personnel will be sponsoring Santa and playing the role as “elves”, Thursday, December 4, 4:00pm-7:00pm at Jim’s Market in Banks.. Come down and take a picture with Santa. Santa may have some special treats for the kids!
Support Banks Fire District Personnel – Year Round
Throughout the year we look for opportunities to support the volunteer firefighters at the Banks Fire District. Sometimes that support is in the form of additional equipment that the firefighters see a need for (in 2017 we purchased extra technical rope rescue gear). Other times we support our members if they have been injured in the line of service.
